Trying to get a couple crocheted pendants in.
This one was a custom order, but I hope to have some more in the shop this fall!

We leave for California on Friday morning (at the crack of dawn)!
I am so excited, I can barely stand it!!!
Now I just have to get through the packing, my least favorite part of travel. I am a notorious over-packer, but I am working hard to keep it to a minimum...

A part of Ancient History

Simple.
Elegant.
Smooth.
Neutral.
Petite.

A new stone,
full of secrets of ancient history.
A piece of a story,
to be worn near and dear to your heart.

Find it here.
Look for more like it here.

You will love it always.

Contrast

I am a big fan of contrast and texture,
both of which are exhibited in these new crocheted necklaces.
I love the look of the black thread on the lighter/white stones and beach glass!
They just feel right.

I hope some make it in to the shop!

What sorts of things inspire you?

worn by the tide

A little bit of what is new and to be expected in the shop...
Beautifully hand crocheted beach stones.
They are reversible, so it is like getting 2 for the price of 1.
The stones and smooth and well worn by the tide.
I just love them.

What do you think?

A Mineral Collection... and some!

We have some friends that live around the corner that dig for crystals.
It is always so fun to go over there and dig around in the piles for a gem or two...
Or small bucket load in my case!

These are some of the new ones I got yesterday
They are all mined in New England!
(some of the photos aren't as clear as I would like,
it is hard to photograph things that are shiny!)

And here are a couple of new crocheted stones.
I especially love the color of the pink one!
I have some new crochet projects that I have been working on,
Still working on getting the photography right,
but hopefully I will have some more to share soon!

Stay tuned,
I am hoping to get a few prints made this week.
If you are interested, feel free to let me know!

Wishing you all a dandy spring day!

Untitled

Everything in nature is unique,
individual.
Yet everything in nature is meant to be there,
belongs.
There are so many different shapes and patterns and textures,
but it all goes together,
it is all meant to be there.

I have always created,
whether it was because it was an outlet
or because it was something that I just had to do.
It feels more and more like breathing to me.
Cyclical.

One of the things I have grown to really love is crocheting.
I am self taught
(for the most part),
and have found a real calming spirit
to be released when I am working.
Not to mention a use for the yarns that I love to spin and dye.

The thing I love most about these is that each one is different.
Even if you do the same patten on each one,
nature created the stones
and each one has their own personality.
And like nature they group together,
as individuals,
but still belonging.
Creating a united front.
So simple,
yet so intricate.

Wishing for a good Thunderstorm

I have been on a spring cleaning frenzy!
I spent probably about 7+ hours cleaning, dusting, rearranging, etc. yesterday
and then more today.
I have been trying to figure out where to move my painting area to.
Where it is now gets a lot of dust and soot from the wood stove.
Also, it is overcast here today,
with the chance of thunderstorms
(fingers crossed, I love thunderstorms!).
I thought I would share more beach photos.
This was our excursion on Saturday...

I think I am going to go do some more cleaning
and then something fun...
Maybe crochet some beach stones,
I have a few friends who's houses look like they need one!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!
