So today it is raining.
I am not sure how I am feeling about this after yesterdays beautiful snowfall
(which is all washes away or turning to compacted ice now)
I love winter,
so very, very much...
But after having a few teaser days at 50 degrees,
and a friend in Virginia saying that it is 70 degrees there,
I don't know, I am kind of ready for sprouts to start poking their green heads through the earth.
And although I am not quite ready for the coming season,
when it does fall upon us New Englanders,
it will greeted with thin sweaters and 'hip-hip-hoorays!'
Until then,
here are the photos I took on my walk in the snow yesterday from start before I left the house until the end of the walk.
(I am slightly impressed with myself,
which doesn't happen often,
for actually capturing a bit of the falling snow)
Enjoy your Monday, all!

Shop UPDATE

Just thought I would let you know,
I have something a little new in the shop...

A little bit different from what I normally am making,
but I am totally obsessed.
(going to the craft store right after this for some more cotton thread)
What do you think?

ice sculptures and snow

I love the beautiful sculptures and shapes ice forms in winter.
...
It is snowing today.
Beautiful big flakes.
Just the dreamy kind that I like...
So I am off to adventure in the woods with Veda.
I am sure I will have photos later (or hope to, falling snow is difficult to photograph).

a new project

This is what I have been working on the last couple of days.

I have been wanting to make these for a while after I saw at a fair I was at in December,
(I traded for this necklace and have been obsessed ever since)
not to mention the fact that I have been wanting to further develop my fairly non-existant crochet skills...

So a little while back I found THIS tutorial on The Purl Bee courtesy of Resurrection Fern.
(btw, if you don't already know about her blog and etsy shop, definitely check it out!)
I still have a loooong way to go to make the beautiful urchin like stones she makes, but I am pretty proud of how far I have gotten!

I definitely had to start over about 4 times,
but after looking up a couple of stitch tutorials on youtube and the meaning of stitch codes,
I was on my way and haven't stopped since.
I actually had to go back to the beach this morning to get more stones!

Hope you all have a shiny afternoon!
Happy crafting!!!

What I've Been Working On...

Amidst my funk,
I seem to have gotten some nuno felted scarves embroidered and finished.
I am not the most skilled person at embroidery,
I sort of figure it out or make it up as I go along...
But I think it looks alright.
What do you think?

Also, I have been working on finishing a bag of needle felted owls.
I am trying to get a box full of them and mermaids for the craft fair I am doing at the end of March.
It is a lot of jabbing with a little needle,
not to mention all the work it took to prepare the fiber in the first place-
Washing and picking the wool clean, dying it, drying it, and finally carding it...
Phew!
It sure looks pretty all rolled up and ready for felting in its box!

Today's Beauty: Part 1

I love the intricate textures that nature displays.

(I had to add this one of veda chomping on a stick, for some reason she thought it was quite tasty!)
