Random

Random shots for the day. When I took Veda for a walk downtown to meet a friend yesterday, the view from the boulevard was ever changing. Sunny, cloudy, sunny, cloudy... And then there was an octopus on a storage container, just thought I'd share.
Hope you enjoy your Saturday!

Maybe a new tradition?

This is what I decided to do last night at 8 o'clock.
I love soft pretzels (more like I am a fanatic about them...) and had been wanting to try to make them myself for the last couple of months. I used this recipe from allrecipes.com.
So good!
We didn't eat them until about 10:30 (which was fine since we were still sort of full from thanksgiving dinner), but they were totally awesome!
I just might make these a new part of the tradition!

A little smirking...

I wanted to share with you my new find. I love this ring that I found today for a whopping $3 while visiting a friend at our local consignment shop (where she works and I frequently visit/shop for my clothing addiction).

Meanwhile, as I was taking this photo, Nate was chuckling as he watched me take a quick snapshot. I caught him and his response was "I knew you were going to share a photo of it and that's why I was smirking."
Silly, I know...

Anyway, I am super pumped about Thanksgiving (best holiday ever!) I cannot wait to eat way too much food drowned in gravy (and cranberry sauce, mmmm........)! Do you have any turkey-day plans or traditions?

Morning cuteness

I have to gush a little this morning about how much I adore this little feathered beast. She is so cute in the morning, I go in to wake her up and before bringing her downstairs for the day and she immediately wants to cuddle and it totally makes me melt everytime! She wakes up so slowly sometimes she runs to the back of her sleep cage where it is darker and just wants to hang out the for a while before coming out.
Too funny!

Different views

A look at the indoor farmers market in Beverly. This is new this year, and such a wonderful market with wonderful vendors and visitors!

At the Pub...

For some food and conversation.
What a handsome guy, don't you agree?!?
(and getting shy about me with the camera...)

What is this, some new age roost?

So we have paused for the moment on the house we were looking at. We aren't sure it is really the right fit (pouting a wee bit about it), but in short there is a long history of issues connected with the houses and land in the area and the towns seems to have things really screwed up. Anyway, back the the picture of chickens in the swing set... We were driving by a house across town to see if we wanted to take a look at it and when we turned down the road this is what we saw in the neighbors back yard. I was in hysterics and made Nate stop so I could get a photo (there was a fence in the way so I couldn't get the awesome shot I really wanted). We really would love to have chickens and hopefully sometime in the (near) future we will have our own little flock! Well, I just loved that these hens were just chilling out in the "fort" part of the swing set. Genius! What better way to use it? After all it does kind of look like a coop without any fencing!

Soulful eyes

This girl is definitely my sidekick. I think she has such soulful eyes. My little snuggle muffin...

To be seen

Some new work drying. New nuno felted scarves and headbands for upcoming fairs. You can find me at the Cape Ann Woldorf School this Friday night (from 7-9) and all day Saturday for their holiday craft fair.

Present

I am participating in Present again this year, the holiday pop up shop on Main St. for November and December. I am happy to be sharing space selling my work with all the other amazing artists and crafters that are a part of it.
Thank you to everyone supporting local and or small businesses this year. You make the world go 'round! I appreciate your support!

Best guy ever!

Have I mentioned how amazing my boyfriend is? I was having one of those days yesterday where everything seemed to turn out to be a complete clusterf@ck. I was so grumpy (and my grumpy I mean straight up mad) and nothing seemed to be going my way. There has been so much going on I can hardly keep things straight, let alone keep my head on tight. When Nate came home later than usual from work, I realized why. He had gone to 3 different grocery stores to find me some nice flowers and the lemon cookies I like to cheer me up. And it worked! What a sweet man and what a wonderful surprise! It's pretty hard to be grumpy when someone you love surprises you with thoughtful gifts and when your face is stuffed with tasty lemon cookies!

On a side note, I hope you all are having a great day and make it to the polls. Even if you don't know who to vote for, make it count. I know I am thankful to have the right to vote, I am thankful for all the women who stood up and fought for my right to vote.
Happy tuesday, lovebirds!
