A smattering of happenings...

I thought I would share a smattering of things going on in the studio. You know, aside from the gigantic mess that has accumulated...
After lighting a hand bundled wildflower smudge stick, sent to me as a gift from a friend across the country, I set my intentions and get to work. I have had a couple fairs in the last few weeks and am in a local holiday pop-up shop through Christmas Eve, so I have been working on making things to put in there. I have new earrings, necklaces, leggings, and organic tote bags to be added to the shop!

*****
p.s. I am so grateful for all of you!
So I am having a sale through tomorrow!

Trying to get a couple crocheted pendants in.
This one was a custom order, but I hope to have some more in the shop this fall!

We leave for California on Friday morning (at the crack of dawn)!
I am so excited, I can barely stand it!!!
Now I just have to get through the packing, my least favorite part of travel. I am a notorious over-packer, but I am working hard to keep it to a minimum...

That quiet, still kind of rain...

Today is raining.
It is that quiet, still kind of rain.
The kind that is good for the mind, body and soul.

This is what I am working on today...
I am going to get some crocheting done.
I finished most of my commissions last night, hooray!
But now it is time for me to get some more necklaces made!

What is the weather like where you are?
Planning on doing anything soothing for the soul today?

glass, mineral, gather and stitch

I have been toiling away.
Gathering,
collecting,
planing,
stitching.

And then some.

I did a trade with a friend,
a whole lot of crystals for crocheting a bear claw she had into a necklace.
I think it looks splendid.

There are a few other things that I have been turning over in my mind,
things that I have been working on,
things that I have been planning on doing.
Things that I hope start manifesting in the very near future...

I have a small gaggle of crocheted crystal necklaces,
as well as crocheted beach glass ones.
I think I will be adding a few to the shop very soon!

How has your week been?
Anything new and exciting been going on in your world?

p.s. I am trying to get to 400 followers on facebook!

new and different

Thought I would share a little of what I have been working on.
I have been collecting beach glass for a long time and over the years have done many different things with it.
But I have been wanting to crochet necklaces for a while now.
Remember the fish necklaces I traded for? I gave one to my Nana, and the other is one of my most prized handmade possessions!
So inspired by mothers day and the piece of purple beach glass that I found (I was so excited, not a normal color to find around here!!!), I thought I would give it a go and put my own spin on it. (Plus I am still trying to figure out on my own how to do a tail)

So here are a few of the necklaces I have made.

I have been wearing the brown one which sits just perfectly on the middle of my breast bone.
I am thinking of putting the white glass one in the shop, what do you think?

I have a few other really special necklaces that I have been working on, but am waiting to show you.
It will be a random surprise one day!

What have you been up to?

A little peek

Yay, sun!!!
I have been waiting for the sun to come back out,
it has been days!
Just a quick little post with a peek into what has been going on around here.
A few different projects are in progress.
I have been obsessively crocheting!

I am not sure if Veda is helping or hindering,
but she sure is cute!

I am off to meet some family and friends at the Peobody Essex Museum.
I am excited because I have actually never been!
Which is silly because it is only a couple towns away.

Hope you are all having sunny, warm spring weather where you are!

Vivid Lucid Dreaming

Ah, I had such a wild dream this morning before I woke up!
It started off really crazy...

Escaping from jail with a couple of people and running from the people chasing us, etc., etc.,
but it ended with some great salvaging!
I was actually kind of bummed when I woke up because the finds were so good!
It was in an old house that belonged to a woman who was a collector, artist and creative mind from the early 1900's through the later part of the century.
I was allowed to go through and "rescue" anything I wanted!

The first thing I found was a matching set of side tables that doubled as jewelry box type things and there was 2 envelopes stuffed with $100 dollar bills!
And they were old and beautifully printed!
There was also a note with it explaining how she intentionally left the money for who ever was to find it because she wanted to share her money and it was fate...
How cool is she?!?
(although she did mention, too, that there was something weird about the money, but that part of the dream didn't really go any further)

It just got better from there,
I found beautiful jewelry- large, dramatic rings with labradorite, and quartz and topaz...
Stones and cabochons,
silk ribbons and yarns,
and amazing vintage clothing - everywhere from victorian style gowns, to vintage riding pants, skirts dresses, blouses...
It was amazing,
I can't even remember all of the incredible things she had!
It was everything I would have wanted!
And then I woke up.
I was kind of disappointed once I realized that it was a dream
and it was such an intensely vivid dream that it took a while to come back to this reality!
Why couldn't this woman been real?
Why couldn't this have been real life and not a dream?!?
It was a great dream though.
I wonder if it could be classified as a lucid dream?
I felt very in control of my emotions in the dream and how things were happening.
Hmmm....
I wonder what it means?

Well, I didn't wake up to my pile of treasures,
but I did wake up to my current crocheting project.

And a link from a friend to craftgawker.com (thanks Cookie).
I have been wasting the whole day looking around.
There is some really great stuff on there!

Well, we are supposed to get some crazy thunderstorms today,
so I am going to go work on my project
and wait with wishes that it will happen.
I just love a good thunderstorm!
How 'bout you?
