On sunny days like this....

I just have to take a moment to go lay in the grass and feel the sun on my face while the dogs run and play.

<<<<<>>>>>

Things have been a bit wonky lately.
A crazy lunar eclipse and full moon madness and now Mercury is in retrograde.
This means that it was a bad idea for me to make an appointment to bring my car to the shop for them to fix a few things (that has turned into a week of me not having my car).
I have succumbed to the fact that I just shouldn't plan anything and let go of expecting to fully accomplish things. I have a "to-do" list that feels about a mile long, with very few things crossed off
.
I still haven't finished going through and editing the gazillion photos from California.
I need to actually MAKE the applesauce (instead of just sifting thought the apples sitting in boxed on the kitchen floor turning into worm food). And on that note I still need to make pickles...
Oh, and I missed the goldenrod (although, I still have my heart set on finding a small secret patch that is blooming just right to make herbal immune honey with).

With that said, it has been beautiful out. We have gotten some much needed rain, but lately the weather has been perfect! I have been working with a friend in her garden and helping her catch up with herbal products. I have been feeling some severe wanderlust, but haven't gone far (sad!). There are a few things I have gotten done, though and am slowly chipping away at the list:
I have started Fire Cider,
teasel root tincture,
Kloss' liniment (pictured above)
and tulsi-rose honey.
I made a big batch of elderberry syrup (woo!). The whole house lives on this stuff.
And I have a new design- that needs photographing and listing, ha!- and have a few new things I am working on debuting in the shop.

How have you been, lovelies?

what' happening...

I am spending today organizing, cleaning and getting my car packed for the fair in Boston tomorrow.
But here is a little bit of what I have been working on...
I am playing around with the tree that I am thinking of getting as a tattoo
and making new nuno felted scarves.
Also, I have been working with metal agian,
new earrings and bangles that you will just have to come to Boston to see!
(Together Fest 579a Massachusetts Ave. Central Square, Boston, Ma.)

I hope you all have a great day!
Tell me what you have been up to...

the lo-down...

Pinned Image

Hilarious, no?
I think so!
Have I mentioned before how much I love ducks (especially ducklings)?

I feel like it has been forever since I have posted,
oh wait, it has...

I have been busy, but haven't quite felt like I had all that much that was interesting to share.
I am getting ready for my first fair of the season this Saturday in Cambridge
(Come visit! Together Fest 579a Mass Ave. Central Sq. Boston from 11-4)
I have also been doing some work for a fellow artist on the side.

However, I feel like I have been having a hard time finding my motivation.
My inspiration seems to be fleeting and it is quite frustrating!
Maybe it has something to do with all the changes that have been going on in my world...

Anyway, I hope to get some pictures of new work up soon.
I have some new nuno felted scarves and some new jewelry.

I hope you are all enjoying your Wednesday.
It's pizza night and I am going to make pizza for a house full of hungry people!

glass, mineral, gather and stitch

I have been toiling away.
Gathering,
collecting,
planing,
stitching.

And then some.

I did a trade with a friend,
a whole lot of crystals for crocheting a bear claw she had into a necklace.
I think it looks splendid.

There are a few other things that I have been turning over in my mind,
things that I have been working on,
things that I have been planning on doing.
Things that I hope start manifesting in the very near future...

I have a small gaggle of crocheted crystal necklaces,
as well as crocheted beach glass ones.
I think I will be adding a few to the shop very soon!

How has your week been?
Anything new and exciting been going on in your world?

p.s. I am trying to get to 400 followers on facebook!
feel free to like my fan page- there is a button on the side of this page,
I would be ever so greatful!!!
Maybe I will do a special giveaway when I hit 400...

And feel free to follow my blog if you aren't already,
that would make my day!!!

love you all!

New Etsy Faves

What a grey, rainy spring day we have had here on the North Shore!
They are calling for thunderstorms tomorrow,
YAY!
I LOOOOVE thunderstorms,
I love the sound,
the stillness,
and the electricity in the air!

I have been working on a crochet project that I have been getting a bit frustrated with.
I am one of those people who learn by just trying and doing,
making mistakes,
and redoing things.
(Plus I can't sit still in a class, so that is pretty much out of the picture)
So I have been crocheting,
pulling it out,
starting over,
and crocheting again until it is right.
Probably not the most efficient way to work,
but I am learning what not to do.

Anyway, I am taking a break to share some of my recent favorites from etsy!
Here you go:

This first one I am CRAZY about!!!
Totally amazing for the crazy bird fiend that I am!
Pretty Bird Brooch

and with that,
I love this beautiful painting!

This is the type of taxidermy that I am down with!

I want to live on this little boat,
so amazing!
one of a kind, handmade sailing vessel

How cute are this little hats!?!
Hand Knit Bunny Baby Rabbit Hat, Custom Size, Girl or Boy Easter Peter CottonTail

I love bunnies,
I have been trying to convince Andy that it would be great to have a little bunny friend around here.
(so far it's a no go, boo!)
But these are super cute and look so real!
Needle Felted Rabbit, made just for you

I love this necklace!
And I love the color!

Hope you enjoyed my choices!
What are some of your favorites?

Happy Spring, my dears!

A day of magic

So yesterday was an interesting day.
It was a foggy, grey and rainy early spring day.
At one point, before the sun started setting,
the sky turned yellow and then a deep rosy pink,
it was so crazy!

Anyway, yesterday was exciting because my books that I ordered arrived!
(note here that Poesy is the best guard parrot ever, she was screaming her pretty little head off when the post man showed up.)

Second I was able to work on some watercolors,
I have been really inspired by the crochet covered stones I have been making
I have been trying to get things ready for the fair I am vending at in a couple of weeks...
Oh, and then I remember that I need to get my tax info together to get that done (yuck!).

And last, when I was on my walk I found I bottle in the crux of a tree branch with a note in it.
There were 2 anonymous notes
and a check for $1 with a note in the memo that said:
'I found the bottle'.
(Let me tell you, it is really tough to get paper notes out of a bottle using wet pine sticks.)
Anyways, it felt like I found treasure,
out in the woods,
in a random spot.
It was kind of fun!
It was like magic.
I have been thinking that I might set up a treasure hunt for people walking in the woods
and check to see if anyone plays along!

Today I am going to take some more photos of what (else) I have been working on,
I am going to make some of these seedling pots like these,
25 Newspaper Starter Pots
as well as trying to set up a page to list some clothes and shoes and things that I am going to sell.
What are you up to this weekend?

What I've Been Working On...

Embroidery for the new nuno felted scarves.
Hoping to list a handful soon in the shop.

Finishing up a knitting project for a friend.

Some fingerless mittens (thanks Jane for the pattern).

This is actually a pair, made with Noro yarn.
They are 2 different color patterns from one skein, but they go together.
I LOOOVE Noro yarns!

p.s. Don't forget to check out the Giveaway over at Dinosaur Toes!

Time flies... New banner!

Where has time gone!?!
I had 3 birthdays to celebrate this week,
I have been trying to find a place to bring my watercolors for printing.
(which is something I am finally acting on after a couple years of saying I am going to)

I have been working on more paintings,
spinning yarn,
carding wool in preparation for felted owls,
and today Andy's sister and nephews came by for the day!
And now I am trying to organize my brain for teaching a homeschooling class about fiber art.

Of course, tomorrow being Sunday,
the places in town that I wanted to get to today (but didn't)
won't be open... Errr, frustrating.

Anyhoo, I changed my banner.
What do you think?
Here is before

and after:

I think I like it, but I am sure in a week or a month I will be bored with it.
Damn my over (self) critical mind!

Hope you all have a super rad night!
xoxo

Birds on the greens - Perfect breakfast set

Did you see this on the front page of etsy today?
I loooooooveeeeee it!!!
so beautiful!
Anyhoo...
I feel like I have totally been slacking, because although I have been posting pictues,
I have been procrastinating an actual post.
It is so strange,
I feel like I have so much to say, but not a clue what to say at the same time!
WHOA!
I had been working on getting stock ready for a craft fair last weekend.
Then our friend, Spencer, came home from Portland (OR.), he was there for 3 1/2 months.
We have been having a great time hanging out with him!
Now, I have been busy working of puppet stuff for a show at the end of April...
But my allergies have kicked in some and by mid day I get super tired, it is so frustating!!!

Oh! And I am so excited!
I finally found a local place to get raw goat milk!!!
YESSSS!!!
No weekly fee, I don't have to get it every week (no commitment) and they milk year round!
I don't know if you have ever had raw goat milk,
But it is AMAZING!
I have literally been dreaming of it since I last got some last summer...
I have been searching and searching for raw diary (especially goat) since the woman at the last place I used to get it (which was really far away) got sick...
...Hopefully she will recover soon...
So hopefully this milk will be as amazingly delicious as the last.
I can't wait to pick it up,
I am going to make pancakes first...
YUM!
...
What have you been up to?
Anything you've been excited about?
