what' happening...

I am spending today organizing, cleaning and getting my car packed for the fair in Boston tomorrow.
But here is a little bit of what I have been working on...
I am playing around with the tree that I am thinking of getting as a tattoo
and making new nuno felted scarves.
Also, I have been working with metal agian,
new earrings and bangles that you will just have to come to Boston to see!
(Together Fest 579a Massachusetts Ave. Central Square, Boston, Ma.)

I hope you all have a great day!
Tell me what you have been up to...

the lo-down...

Pinned Image

Hilarious, no?
I think so!
Have I mentioned before how much I love ducks (especially ducklings)?

I feel like it has been forever since I have posted,
oh wait, it has...

I have been busy, but haven't quite felt like I had all that much that was interesting to share.
I am getting ready for my first fair of the season this Saturday in Cambridge
(Come visit! Together Fest 579a Mass Ave. Central Sq. Boston from 11-4)
I have also been doing some work for a fellow artist on the side.

However, I feel like I have been having a hard time finding my motivation.
My inspiration seems to be fleeting and it is quite frustrating!
Maybe it has something to do with all the changes that have been going on in my world...

Anyway, I hope to get some pictures of new work up soon.
I have some new nuno felted scarves and some new jewelry.

I hope you are all enjoying your Wednesday.
It's pizza night and I am going to make pizza for a house full of hungry people!

a friend in the city

Yesterday was so amazingly warm out!
I had made plans to go into Boston and hang out (aka: thrifting and food) with my friend Chelsea.
I was so excited because we haven't hung out since we met this summer on the road.
I really love Chelsea, we automatically had a bond,
like long lost sisters...
I have been very blessed to meet a few people like this lately,
people who I actually have a lot in common with,
and we can't stop talking when we get together.

Anyways, I remembered to bring my camera,
but forgot it in the car for most of the time.
But I did get a bunch of great photos of the little time I did remember to take it out!

First of all, she lives on the 14th floor in a beautiful apartment that has lots of HUGE windows!
I forgot to take pictures in the daytime,
but the view was still incredible at night!
(plus I like that you can see both inside and out)

This is looking left out her windows towards Fenway.
(the glowing citgo sign is well known and seen from many places!)

This is looking right out the windows towards the prudential building (the tallest one)

You can't see in in these photos, but the moon which is pretty much full was gigantic!

This is Victor her amazing cat.
He was so sweet and loved rummaging around in the bags from the thrift store and under the clothes she scored!
He was posing here.

I didn't remember my camera for thrifting, but I did get a bunch of awesome things
(which I will try to remember to take photos of)
and chelsea got A LOT of great stuff, too!

I did remember to bring my camera into her school where she wanted to show me some work that was exhibited there by fellow artists.

This painting is the reason she wanted to bring me here.

I really liked the displays of studio supplies and objects...

This was really cool.
I forget the artists name, but look at the circle and then look under the shiny pipe-
It is an image of his face!

Here is another one from that same artist.
This is from far away...

And here is the effect up close!
Cool right?

These were incredible.
They are miniatures of studios...
I don't know if it is normal to be jealous of these fake miniature people's totally rad studios,
but I am for sure!
There is even furniture,
mini supplies like paint and brushes, etc...
there are even mini works of art in progress!

You can see how small scale it all is here:

Here is another miniature:

Lastly, (and there were many more I didn't take photos of)
I thought this cloud was so beautiful!

Later we went to hang out with another friend who I haven't seen in a while, too.
It was his birthday, so it was nice to be able to wish him a happy one in person!

So that was my day yesterday.
Sorry for the excess of photos...
I got home around 9:30 and passed out not too long after that!
What has the weather been like where you are?

My Sunday...

So yesterday was our friend Spencer's birthday!
Spencer just got back from being in Portland, OR. for 3 1/2 months and we are so happy because we missed him! (and by we I mean ALL of us and the pups!)
So we went into the city (Boston) for some food, pastries from the North End and a visit to the Paper Source...
LOOOOVE Paper Source!
He also found someone in the city who sounds the THE guy to bring a typewriter to for a tune up and get ink from, but alas, he was not open on sunday!
Another day, I guess...
So anyways, here are some photos of the day...
I always forget to take pictures until it is too late, so it is not the best documentation, but some photos none the less.

First we went in and I was reeeeaaaally hungry so we got food first, we went to this place called Red Bones which had all sorts of BBQ and a bit of southern style.
It was really good, but in my hunger I didn't get any pics...
But I did get a pic of this sign down the street which I thought was great!

sounds fun, no? ha, ha, ha!
We walked around a little and went in this store called Magpie.
I got a few cute post cards and some buttons...

These photos of them aren't that great, sorry.

There was a paper source down the street, but we decided to go across town to a different one that I hadn't been to yet...

Here is part of the drive.
Spencer is driving because he knows where he is going (he used to live in the city) and we didn't.
I got these cute owl stickers there!

Not sure why the photo didn't rotate, oh, well!

Then we drove to the North End for some Italian pastries...
I love driving in the city when I can be a passenger because I like to look at the building and in the windows (not in a creepy way).
To get to the North End we had to drive through one of the nice areas with all the brownstone buildings.
So beautiful!

I kept missing the shots of the really nice ones, but these are nice, too!
Like where Bill Cosby would have lived!

Sorry for the blur, the car was moving, ha ha ha!

Then we got to the North End and it was really busy and it is really narrow.
But there are lots of great photo ops...

People in Boston drive like they are all insane!
(actually I think that is most of New England, he he)

More blur...
Here is Andy when we got out of the car.
He actually let me take a nice photo of him.
Usually he is a total butthead about photos unless he is in or with the puppets.
But I really like this one!

I kept trying to get a good photo of Spencer with out him really knowing, but this was all I could really manage...
Looking at the display in the window while we waited in a line out the door at Modern Pastry.

He is also really tall and I am really short, so I think no matter what my photos would not be right...
Once again, I was too distracted by the idea of eating food to remember to take photos of what we got...
But I did get a pic of how Andy put a sparkler in as a candle because we didn't have any birthday candles.
HA HA HA! ok I officially suck at taking pictures...
But this is kinda fun I think!

And here is Veda taking advantage of Andy looking at Jacob...
She loves food too, especially cake.
Naughty girl!

We finished up the night with past episodes of Fringe (if you didn't know I LOOOVE Fringe, and it mostly takes place and is filmed in or around Boston... Plus I loooooove Joshua Jackson!)
So there you have it, how we spent Sunday!
What did you do?
