Equinox

It is fall!
Happy Equinox!!!
That means new designs, new styles and new colors!
Enjoy balmy days in a new organic cotton lunar tee.
Or snuggle away the cool nights in a slouchy sweatshirt featuring a mason jar full of freshly harvested garlic!
And lastly, you can always have that perfect fall layer with the fern heart loose long sleeve.
All the most comfortable pieces, I swear!
(I am living in these right now!!!)

Headed for the shop in the next few days.

This past weekend I was set up at a local music fest.
It was a great time all around, great music, great people!

Thanks to everyone who showed their support to both the festival and to Little Owl!
You are deeply appreciated.

Farmers' Market

Yesterday was the Farmers' Market in Beverly that I vend at.
I thought I would share a little bit from my booth...

Mu is IN LOVE with blueberries! Well, really anything edible. She also loved the green beans. It is both good and bad that I am set up next to the Farmer Dave produce booth, since Mu is constantly grazing under the tables, often with her head in a bucket of back-up berries. We have also decided that from now on, blueberries are going to be referred to as mu-berries. She was in heaven yesterday since our friends at Farmer Dave's were handing her things to snack on left and right!

I was photo-bombed!
(My friend, who runs the market, this is her son. What a goofball!)

Mu-berry coma!

Finally, the Little Owl booth...

And my organic cotton market totes FINALLY came, just in time for the market!
I had a friend help me design these (my artwork, his graphic artist skill getting the lettering on there), but the printer he goes through, well, let's just say I am not pleased with their turnaround time or their (lack of) communication. But the bags look fantastic (thanks Jamie!)!!!

(will be in THE SHOP soon.)

How was your afternoon?

Before I get started, I am thinking of changing my banner...

It would look something like this.
What do you think?

Yesterday was so beautiful out, I went to the beach to do some treasure hunting.
You can see in the shadow above the bag I am holding full of shells and things.
I ended up wandering around a lot longer than I had anticipated, it was perfect!!!
I wish it were that nice again today, but it is overcast.

Last night was the opening celebration for Present, a local holiday shop downtown here in Gloucester. It went really well and was such a good time!!!
Now I am getting ready for a fair in New Hampshire tomorrow.
I have to finish some nuno felted headbands, maybe a mermaid or two, get the wool I washed in for to dry, pack the car...
I am leaving tonight to go get my friend who is also doing the fair (she actually told me about it), we are going to go tonight and stay at her mother's house so that we are closer tomorrow.

I think this weekend is going to be busier that I realize.
Travel tonight, fair tomorrow, game night with friends tomorrow night, big anniversary sale going on the whole weekend at the local yarn shop (and I definitely what to take advantage of that!), then hopefully a knitting get together at a friends house sunday afternoon/evening!
I also have a lot of other things that need creating to add to the shop downtown, but I think I will focus more on that next week...

So, any big plans for your weekend?

Yesterday looking back behind where my booth was set up. We had clouds all day and then got a little bit of sunshine, only to be followed by this sky full of funky looking, looming grey clouds! It was quite a beautiful sight!!! This is the only photo I remembered to take, ha!

A busy weekend at the fair

Phew! I am beyond tired from the fair this weekend.
It was a long, but successful 3 days!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hi, supported my work, or told friends to stop by (even the Veda pup stopped by!),
you are all wonderful!

I hope you all enjoyed you weekend.
I have been just relaxing a bit today...

To be honest, I always feel a little sad and lost after a show because I spend so much time getting ready and gearing up for it and then after I sort of don't know what to do with myself.
I know that really what I need to do is start getting ready for the next one,
but I still have a moment of emptiness to deal with.
Luckily it doesn't last long though!

Now I am starting to work on more things to add to the shop and for more fairs and markets.
Tomorrow I will (hopefully, weather permitting) be at the Beverly Farmers' Market,
so let's all thank happy thoughts that there will be no rain or wind!

At the Fair...

I spent Friday getting ready for Saturday's art fair, making some new nuno felted scarves (I think I have to keep this one!) and gathering things, displays and stuff, up from around the house and packing the car.

Someone doesn't want me to forget her!
Sorry Miss Lou, I think it is going to be too hot for you, you must stay here and govern the household while I am out...

We are all set up in front of the health food store (kind of ironic since I worked at one for years!). I am sharing the space with my friend Lara! I think it looks pretty darn good (I hate doing displays, ugh!)

My half of the booth:

All in all it was a pretty good fair and the weather was perfect!!!
It started off a bit iffy, but then the sun came out and we had a lot of wonderful supporters wander their way through! I was so tired at the end of the day, actually I am still tired today, but it was worth it!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend,
what did you do?

This weekends fair...

Saturday I has my first fair of the season
and I have to be honest,
it was terrible!
I thought it would be packed for sure because it was really cold out,
but it seemed like no one even came to it!
The attendance was horrible,
which means the sales were just not going to happen.
It was my first fair like this
and although I was trying to be optimistic,
it was hard not to be disappointed.
This is my job,
so it is a bit disheartening when something like this happens...
I just hope this isn't the vibe for the year!

Anyway, on the positive side,
I was really happy with how my table set up looked.
I really hate doing displays.
(which is weird, even I would think I would like it)
And I was worried because my stock has expanded range past the general 6 or 8 foot table.
So I had been trying to think of ways to expand up
and my solution was the 3 shelf wire rack!
I wasn't quite sure how I was going to like it,
but I do!

I was really excited to be in the library again this year
and set up next to my friend Lara.
This room was a lot quieter and had these beautiful windows that looked out on the marsh behind the school!
Plus is was great natural light!

I was really excited about the manikin that was given to me,
even though the neck part was broken,
you can't even tell and it looks great on my table with my scarf and obi belt wrapped around it!

I love the way the colors all look together with these cowl scarves!
It was interesting to see how many people couldn't figure out what they were when they were laid out like this.
I guess they do look a little confusing...
Oh well.

Also, I will be posting some more new crocheted cuff bracelets and crocheted beach stones
today in the shop,
so keep an eye out!
And don't forget about the spring giveaway!

I hope you all had a great weekend.
Did you do anything new or exciting?

xoxo
