A couple of newbies in THE SHOP.
I am IN LOVE with these!

I have some more that require photographing and then those, too, will make an appearance.

I have gone back to adding a little detail to the chain, thought I would change it up a bit. As much as I love the plain chains, I think this is a nice way to add character and contrast to each piece. Of course there will be some with plain chain as well. I am loving the new thread that I dipped in the indigo bath (which was revived over a week ago and still seems to be going strong, wahhoooo!).

Today is cold and raw and although I would love to set up shop outside and paint or craft while laying in the sun, I am ok with a rainy day like today also.

I need the stillness, the quiet, the grounding.

(I just wish I could keep myself warm, it is rather raw out!)

We got the seeds planted in the garden this past weekend and I am already eager to see everything poking up through the earth! I am feeling super impatient about this. Plus, I feel awfully behind and on more than just the garden...

I feel rather behind on work as well.

But then again, I am easily overwhelmed. It is easy to get off track, to get overwhelmed by everyday things. My brain seems to have it out for me some days. So my solution is to stop, take a metaphorical step back, breathe, and then just focus on one thing at a time, no matter how large or small. I am trying to make at least one thing a day, although that can be difficult on any random given day. I am trying to troubleshoot making my paintings/drawings into cards from home, a project that has become way more in depth than I anticipated. But I am deeply in love with Indigo lately and am pleased as punch to see how beautiful it looks wrapped around crystals and stones.

It is funny how one little shift can open up a whole new creative world and redirect you to revisit or to a new creative path!

I HAVE POWER!!!

Today I am trying to get ready for the holiday fair I am in that is tomorrow and saturday!

I was going to try to work on some things last night, but we lost power due to the high winds!

It was so warm yesterday, and windy, it was crazy!

I was really sad that we lost power, though, because Poesy and I were supposed to have an ichat with Danielle and the lovely Flojo from Dinosaur Toes...

I was so excited because it was going to our first "meeting" (and my first time using ichat).

Since I live in Mass and Danielle lives in Virginia, it is the next best thing to actually meeting in person!

But alas, it was not meant to be last night!

So, hopefully soon!!!

So now, before I dive into the realm of work and fiber and felt, I wanted to share the few little owls that I just posted in my shop.

These little cuties are so fun and soft!

They make great gifts and I have added a bit of thread from my collection of vintage threads so they can be hung as ornaments!!!

Dust bunnies BEWARE!!!

Ok, so today I have appointed myself the nasty deed of (spring) cleaning like a madwoman!

(I say (spring) hoping it make it sound more fun and like something I actually want to do)

And I say this in all seriousness

seeing as I was up most of the night in a panic about how much crap we have as well

as the high level of dust and debris in all the nooks and crannies...

It sucks.

Its not fun...

And I HATE vacuuming.

However, I do believe that this is a necessary evil to be rid of these confounded dust bunnies.

Anyway, I have vacuumed, cleaned, organized, reorganized, vacuumed again and gone through all my clothes to see what can be sold, donated, given away, and what I don't need and can store for next winter...

Like I said... MADWOMAN!

I have been cleaning and having mini melt-downs all day, but I am actually starting to feel a bit more sane (and congested due to the fact that I am allergic to dust)!

I am trying not to look around too much however because it doesn't look like I have done that much, although I really have!

Well, I guess that is all as of yet,

my short break is over.

I am off to continue on my madwoman adventures...

I still have to make dough for the pizza we will be having tonight,

dough for bread for tomorrow,

and a pie.

hmmm...
