A thought on Spring
I love all four seasons,
especially the anticipation of the turning of one into another.
I feel so lucky to live in a part of the country that gets to experience these seasons fully!
Each season that comes around is my favorite at the moment
and at the moment spring is glorious with all its wonders!
One of the things that I love so much about spring is waiting and watching with delight
as the new life struggles and pushes its way up through the dreary, heavy earth.
It has been a long, frosty sleep.
It is a surprise and exciting everytime.
I love how simple things seem,
but when you look deeper,
there is a whole world wiggling, crawling,
starting to push its way towards the sun,
starting from the core.
I love the contrast.
Light and dark,
cold then warm (then cold, then snow, then warm),
hard and soft,
strong and delicate.
All fighting for the same thing,
all working at growing.
I love the birds and their beautiful songs,
I love the smell of the dirt,
I love the soft green bud and gentle shoots sprouting.
And I especially love the dull greys and browns flowing into bright and vibrant yellowy greens,
and knowing that the sap is flowing.
Spring is a deep and ancient process,
calling from the womb of the earth
and the heart of the sky.
An integral part of the process,
a necessary cycle
starting life anew.
sharing
Today I thought I might share a few of my watercolors that I am thinking about making some limited edition prints of to put in the shop.
Feel free to let me know what you think,
or maybe even which one is your favorite!

Watercolors Preview
Today started out a bit on the crazy side.
My adrenalin was running pretty rapid.
But the day got better...
I snapped a few shots from around the house,
like these pinecones waiting to be decorated with peanut butter and seeds and then hung for the little birds outside.
This is one of Andy's tiny faery scenes that he creates.
They are so amazing.
Created from things found in nature, with a tiny, hand built acorn cabin and walkway lined with little crystals...
If I were a little faery, I would live here!
Today (finally) I went to get some of my watercolors made into prints.
I plan of listing them in the shop,
so make sure to keep an eye out.
I am hoping to get them in tomorrow and Wednesday.
Let me tell you,
I have never done this before and trying to explain what I was looking for to different print shops was slightly exhausting!
But I think I am happy with the outcome other than the fact that I am a terrible critic of my own work and have already picked out all the flaws...
Anyway, here is a little preview of what I will be adding to the shop.
They are much nicer in person, but the the photos are the best (night time, you know?)
Hope they do well!

Today was 50 degrees and I didn't go to the craft fair.
It has been raining here all day today and I don't think it is about to stop.
The weird thing is that it was almost 50 degrees today...
IN THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER!?!
Actually, I am not really that suprised, it was 60 degrees around this time 2 years ago when Poesy came home to us...
But I think the temp is going to drop.
Maybe that means snow!!! (the thought makes my heart smile!)
I love rain, actually, but I have been needing the still and quiet of a good snow.
I was hoping to go to this holiday craft fair today, but my plans were blundered :(
Have any of you heard about it, or been to it?
They had another cute one with a parrot hanging up-side-down, but I couldn't find it to post here.
Anyway, I couldn't find anyone to go with me and I really didn't want to go alone.
Then Andy said he would go with me when he got home from work...
I should have known better because he worked at 5:30 this morning and got up at 4.
So when he got home he fell asleep for a while, then woke up and said he would go,
but there just wasn't enough time and I didn't want to waste the gas and get there only to have to rush to see everything before it was over!
Oh, well, I wanted to check it out for a vending possibility for next year.
Maybe I will just have to blindly apply and hope that it is as fun and as good as it looks!
So I spent the rest of the afternoon playing around with a watercolor painting that I have been working on.
This little puppy dog has been bugging me (because at this point it is almost supper time)!
She is on my naughty list because she ate a bag of pastries that I was bringing home when she was in the car the other day...
Naughty, Naughty Dog!!!
I probably should have hidden them a little better, but she should know better by 9 years old!
It was sad. For me.
Not for her, she was happy!

Summer Ocean Triptych
This is a triptych of mini paintings I did of the ocean this summer. Living by the sea is a great inspiration for me and there is one beach, Lighthouse Beach, down the road from my house, that I love. My favorite time to go there is high tide because all of the beach has been swallowed up and only large boulders remain. It is usually empty at this time so it feels like I have the whole ocean to myself. Not to mentions to most gorgeous water colors!
High tide is also the best time to go swimming because the water is up around the rocks making it so you can jump or dive in and swim like in a pool! The water is always so clear and refreshing... OH, man, I miss swimming in the ocean! If I had more guts, I would get a suit and swim all year, but I just don't care to be that cold!
