Ok, so yesterday I was with my mom and we stopped in one of the consignments shops that actually has good clothes in the area...
Its called Forget-Me-Nots

So, until then,

Sweater and Hoop

Oh, yes.
It is tuesday!
And that means,
Two Things I Love... Around My Home!
...
I have been trying to be productive the last few days,
I think I haven't been as productive as I want though...
But I did make a new nuno felted wrap scarf
(that will be a different post).
...
So,
the first thing that I am totally loving around my home is actually a sweater.

I found this for $5 at the thrifty store the other day...
I have been in search for a traditional Icelandic sweater,
for cheap,
but so far this is the closest I have found...
But I do love it,
and it is very warm!

The second thing I love around my home is my hula hoop...

I usually make my own,
but I traded this one with a friend and I love it!
Ok, so I made a silly little video,
my first ever video...
But I can't seem to get it to post, it just keeps loading and loading...
So sorry, I guess the computer was trying to same me from some embarrassment!
ah, so there you have it!
My two favorite things around the house!
What are your two favorite things?
Play along and then link up over on Kassi's blog.
Have a happy tuesday!

Greenies and the obsession with baskets

I love doing this post. Thanks to Kassi at Bacwood ferns...
In fact, I was just thinking about it today (although I didn't realize that it was tuesday yet, my brain is slow with the snow and lack of sun).
I was on a walk with Mr. Man and pups (who were in the lead, of course) and I was wishing that I was wearing my greenies (green rubber boots) instead of my faux uggs.
The snow, however beautiful it may be, has gotten a bit slushy and is no good when wearing boots not made of rubber.
So it was that thought that got me thinking about the 'two things I love'...
I was thinking:
"I love my greenies so much,
(I'm not quite sure, but in my head my reanimation voice is a dopey, deep baritone, very weird I think)
I could wear them everyday, but I wish they were just a teensy weensy bit bigger!
('cos I was excited when purchasing them on sale at the end of summer and didn't quite think about winter socks)"
So when we returned to our abode and I went online to check my blog, I saw that Kassi had posted that it was in fact Tuesday and that it was time again for 'Two things I love'...
So yippee!
Here they are!
First is, of course, my beloved greenies...

Here they are, in all their greenie glory!
...
And, second of the two things I love in my home is not actually a single thing...
It is more like an obsession.
I LOVE (love, love, love) baskets...
I have a million.
But, as an herbalist and artist, most of them are in use all the time.
So I will show a snippet of my well loved and used, but organizationally abused fiber arts corner in all its baskety abundance:

And here it begins...
(this is just one on this shelving system)

Here is some more 'organized chaos'...

Same corner, same 'organized chaos', different angle.
So the baskets aren't just one thing, but as a genre, I think they are..
...
And those are 'two things I love... around my house'!
what do you love?

Two Things I Love....

I am doing this post inspired by Bacwoods Fern's post...

First is Sophie...
Here she is, Sophie, in all her glory... I found this beautiful one at the flea market that we have a few towns over on sundays during the seasons with good weather. Super score because she was only $10 and fully functionable (aside that she needed some basic love like oiling and a new drive band), she was balanced and everything! I had only used a spinning wheel once before, it was a single drive (Sophie is a double drive kinda girl) and completely different! I was spinning all my yarn before Sophie on drop spindles (that I love equally as much) that my Man made me, but she just brought everything to a new level. What a lucky find, and we adore eachother...

Second is my watercolors...
This is my main watercolor paint box, I use it pretty much daily and bring it with my when I travel. I am constantly sketching and doodling and I have found watercolors to be perfect company. I love how simple, yet complicated they are!
I have a couple of things that I use for my watercolor paints when I am painting, but this one seems to be my favorite. I was given my first watercolor paints by a friend, they were half pans and set color scheme. I loved using it, but when I figured out that I could create my own paint box with colors, I was so happy! I usually mix most of my own colors from a base of the 3 prime colors (red, yellow, blue) in 2 different hues so I can have the whole spectrum, but I do throw in a few pre-mixed colors (usually greens, purples or magentas).
Anyways, Both of these things are a big part of my life, so naturally I thought I would share them! What do you love?
