At market

The season is winding down, there are only a couple farmers' markets left!
But there is still plenty of beauty left to enjoy!

Farmers' Market

A few random photos from the market on Monday:

All the children love Bessie Mu
(although she can be a bit skeptical of them)
and when I turned around at one point, this is what I saw...
Surrounded!

This little girl had the sweetest outfit on.
I love how patiently and serenely she waited while her mom was shopping at Farmer Dave's booth!
Such a sweet moment!

Lastly, I am so excited to have come home with not only fruit and vegetables, but also herbs.
Included in those herbs (which are all in pots, not cut) was thyme this amazing passiflora!!!
I already have a passiflora that I started from a cutting and have had for years, but I am always to bring home another of these beautiful and elaborate plants.
How beautiful!!!

I love this plant and it has wonderful medicinal properties.
It is a nervine and mild sedative, so it is helpful with insomnia and anxiety.
The entire above ground parts of the plant can be used and taken in many different forms such as tea, tincture and capsules, but I prefer the tea.
It is also great mixed with other herbs such as Lemonbalm, chamomile, or valerian...
Just so you know.

Do you use herbs at all?
Do you have a favorite?

Its market day today.
This week is going to be busy!
Farmers' Market today, family in town for a visit, a 3 day art fair at the end of the week...
Plus I had a great weekend with a surprise visit with some old friends that I haven't seen in ages!!!

These photos are of the newest crocheted beach stone I've listed in the shop
and a some others of things I think are beautiful around the studio.
I love poppies, especially seed pods, so I have harvested mine and am drying them to save the seeds and for decoration.

Hope you all have a exceptional weekend and hopefully are having a good monday!

Farmer's Market

Yesterday Andy and I went to a farmer's market a few towns over,
its just a little ways past the awesome flea market that we like going to on Sundays...

I wanted to check it out as a possible vending opportunity.
However, I don't really think it is going to work.
It isn't that big,
plus it is really expensive for a farmers market
($50 a week as a crafter)
and it is almost and hour away,
plus I would have to show my work first since it is jurried...

Arrrg.
Oh well, maybe I can try it one week (if I can get in)
and see if it is worth that price...

Until then, here are some pretty farmers market inspired photos:

I am not a huge fan of radishes, but they sure are beautiful in their simplicity!

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon!
I am off to attempt to get some felting done.
Au Revoir!
