Ok I have been wanting to try out making felted shoes/slippers for a while.
I finally gave it a whirl the other night and this is what my first attempt came out like:

an air light (plant air purifier)

Andy and I (and Veda) went to walk around rockport which we haven't done all summer and although it is the next town over, it is still a nice date! We went to top dog and got turkey dogs and cheese fries, we walked around and window shopped and then we got taffy on the way back to the car. It was great! I really love the spearmint taffy and the watermelon taffy... Then on the ride home we saw this AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL sunset! I wish I could have gotten better shots, but it was hard to find a place and I am not the best photographer... Anyway, it was totally breath-taking!I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday night!

Went to a small fam. reunion today in Newport, RI.. We went to tour one of the mansions (the home of Doris Duke) and in the front yard were these "chia camels"... Have I mentioned that I am obsessed with camels? Also, during the tour we learned that she acquired a pair of camels while trying to drive a hard bargain on a jet. Yeah, Doris Duke had PET CAMELS!!!

It has been rainy and windy for the past few days.
And it also really feels like fall...
But I love it,
we needed the rain so badly and I always love a good rainy day!
It is the perfect weather for being lazy and snuggling,
but also for creating!
Today I have been making kimchi and carding wool with my new (to me) carding machine.
I think I might go for a short walk too,
I love walking in the rain,
especially in the woods.
It smells so nice and everything feels so alive!

SUPER SCORE!!!
It feels like forever since I have posted!
But to be honest, it kinda has been...
I have been checking in here and there, but so busy and we have been on the road that I haven't had time to put together a real post.
Not to mention that I am having a problem uploading photos from my camera!
Blah!
Anyway, I am so excited because the other day I SUPER scored!
I have been looking for a drum carder to make my life easier,
but couldn't afford one and no one ever seems to be getting rid of them.
So a friend I used to garden for had alpaca and I went to her house to get some fleece that she was going to give to me...
She is sadly going through a divorce and it is getting messy, so she unfortunately had to find homes for her alpaca and she also had a spinning wheel and drum carder that she was going to sell!
I only had enough money at the moment for the drum carder (which I got for a fraction of the price of a new one!), but I ended up also coming home with a ball winder, more fleece, and TONS of veggies from her garden...
Boy what a day, I was so happy!!!
I am trying to save now for the spinning wheel, but that might take a while.
I am so excited about the drum carder though, it is already making my life so much easier!!!

I hate being aways from my animals for so long, but it is fun and its business.

The last 2 weeks...
Ok so this is way over-due, but none the less....
The last 2 weeks have been a whirlllllll!!!!
Last week we were at Gathering Of The Vibes in Bridgeport, CT. (the Puppets, that is).

This dragonfly was HUGE! It got stuck under the sail we had up and was tired from trying to get out... Don't worry, he made it out safely!
Trouble makers...
I finally got a glow hoop this summer and have been totally psyched to spin at night!
...
Then when we got home I was reminded of the Sidewalk Days here in Fishtown...
(I have photos of the rest of the week, but for some reason my camera does not want to cooperate and won't let me upload anything... BOOO!!!)
That was 3 days of vending by myself and although I couldn't go far from my booth it was a much needed outcome!!!!
WOOOHOOO!!!
So that is some $$$ towards the car that I now need to find...
I also harvested my garlic last week, I am pretty excited about that.
Home grown garlic far surpasses anything you will buy in a store!
I have also been harvesting elderberries, thyme, oregano and a few other things here and there...
Now we are counting down the days (there are like 2 left before we leave) until Be Here Now up at Harry's Hill in Maine.
It is a real bummer not having a car, especially when we have a festival to be at since that means renting a vehicle.
That part is totally sucky... And expensive!!!
Anyways, that has been my past two weeks.
I think I also have to work on making more things for the next shows, since my stock is low now from the Sidewalk Days!

I am trying to find a new blog template and make a new banner that I like...
What do you think?
I am not that great at computers, and can't quite figure out how to change the size of things (i.e. I want the banner at the top to be the whole length of the space, but can't for the life of me figure out how to do that).
Anyway, I have totally been slacking of the real update of what I have been up to,
I think I am going on 2 weeks worth of events!
Shame on me, I will get to it...
Probably Sunday since tomorrow is my last day at the sidewalk bazaar (which has been taking up all my time for the past few days).
Yeah, so tell be what you think of what I have done so far...

Raspberries are my favorite of all the berries...
It has been crazy here around the little owl house...
We have been on the road quite a bit,
traveling with the puppets
and so on...
I have so much to catch you up on,
but not tonight.
I have spent the last 3 days trying to get caught up on rest and things of that nature,
as well as getting some painting, gardening and puppet repairs in.
I will try to post photos and updates tomorrow.
Now I am off to do some reading and then sleep!
