Inspired

This year has been a bit of a whirlwind... In a good way, but a whirlwind none the less. Sadly, I admit I have not been out enjoying the woods as much as I should be or would like to be. But I plan on changing that.

I love the color of the lichen on these dead branches. In fact I am knitting a hat that seems to match! I find the textures found in nature amazing, vastly diverse and inspiring...
And of course, I can't wait for a good pile of snow! I believe snowy winter is the most beautiful and peaceful time to be out in the forest. Still and quiet, smelling clean and crisp and a bit sweet, like apple blossoms.

What is your favorite time to be out in the wildness?
