Setting Intentions + A Giveaway

UPDATE:
Congrats to Katrin for winning the spot in Darcey's Every Day Sacred  28 Day Journey!

***************************************

Hello Friends, Happy New Year!
It has been a whirlwind and I can't believe how long it has been since the last post. I had full intentions of posting between then and now, but you know how it goes...

I am not really a New Years person. Actually, I am not at all. But I do try to set intentions and goals for myself throughout the year. I normally begin my new year (if you will) around the Solstice, the longest day of the year. It is a perfect time to start setting intentions, dreaming, manifesting and conjuring, as the days inevitably stretch and grow longer...

This year my intention is to integrate my connection with the plant world with my art more. Also, I would like to deepen my knowledge of mycology. I know so many beautiful, amazing and talented herb folk, they are constantly inspiring and reminding me (whether they know it or not) where my "roots" lie. And for that I am ever-grateful.

Darcey, from Shamana Flora is one such individual. A gifted sister who lets her soul flow free and is one with the plants. She offers phenomenal, hand crafted herbals, but also plant courses.
Darcey is sweet enough to be giving away a space to kindred spirit in her upcoming Every Day Sacred 28 day journey!

  1. I am trying to find a study course that I can do mostly at home. The start of the new year seems to be a good time to dive in. Maybe this one is for me, or maybe you can recommend a good match for me :)

  2. I walked in the high desert and listened. I connected with the sage that grew there and harvested some for bundling. Years later, when I was away from my beloved mesa, I would smell the sage I had gathered and would be transported right back to those sunny days I spent wandering in the place I love.
What a beautiful giveaway and beautiful photos too, Brittan. xx

  3. I am new to herbalism and have fallen in love quickly. I am an artist who is learning to find time to flame my passions now that my children are grown. I love the woods. Trees are an important friend to me, a gift passed onto me by my grandmother. I love the damp, earthy moss beds, the ferns and the lady slippers, the smell of pine and sassafras, the mayapples and the pawpaws, the darkness of the tree trunks against the green after it rains, the sounds and calmness one receives when you sit and listen...I love it all. As for my favorite plant, it must be plantain. I so appreciate and connect to the wildness and resiliency of this plant. I love the beauty of it's leaves along with the amazing medicinal qualities it harbors...offering itself so easily and selflessly. I also adore meeting others who are passionate about plants and this planet, it is encouraging to know there are others who so love our mother and know the gift she offers.

  4. I think love for nature runs in our family. Moving from a busy town to a quiet village, surrounded with forest and with a spring nearby was a bliss. Nature here has a lot to offer and when it's time, we get to pick her fruits. Usually it's well known flowers and herbs, mostly for teas.

  5. I wish you all the best for 2015, especially about your connection with the plant world, that has been my world ever since I was a little girl. Nature is truly an endless source to explore and you will get so much back in return.
