Snoopy...

I LOVE Snoopy.
I feel very connected to this character because my dog, Veda, is like the female version (we call her Snoopette)...
And Poesy (my parrot) is like woodstock!

Ok.
I just found this in my photos and had to share.
I know, I am a total bird geek...
But she is just so darn cute!

I think she was trying to cuddle up to the cameral here.
Silly bird, I love you!

Today...

(Jacob taking a nap)

Today is Andy's Birthday.
I painted him a small picture of nature things and
I took him out to lunch at one of our favorite Japanese restaurants
(we love the bento box lunches there).
I of course forgot to take photos, so maybe I will take a photo of the painting tomorrow...
Anyway, here are some cute photos from yesterday.

Poesy loves rosemary (of which we have many)
so I clipped her a branch and she went to town dismantling it.
Good bird!

It is such a great plant for the respiratory system and seeing as birds have sensitive respiratories it is a great thing for her to snack on!

Veda's beard is getting a bit unruly!
I think it is time for one of the (maybe) 4 baths/haircuts she gets a year...

We still have our tree up.
traditionally it stays up until around february.
I LOVE having a tree in the house,
it smells so good!
I wish it didn't cost so much to have a live one each year and then plant it,
so until I have an excess of cash I will honor the cut ones we get each year.

Hope you have a nice night!

Some sunshine shines through

I have been having a very up and down holiday season.
It is very stressful and tiring which stinks because I love the holidays... Normally.
Anyway, Poesy must have known I needed a bit of cheer and was being so cute
(cuter than she normally is)
and was posing for the camera!

These photos are actually chronicled backwards.
She started off playing with the cardboard tube and then into preening and trying to cuddle the camera.
So cute, I love my little bird!

yesterday and today

I spent all day yesterday felting.
I was trying to get some scarves, cowls, belts and cuff bracelets made for my appointment with a local shop at the end of the week!
Today I will be working on more, plus some felted owls and mermaids.

Some new work hanging to dry.

Poesy was being awfully cute with her slices of tangerine!

(sorry for the blurry photos)
She went to the vet today to have her feathers trimmed (for safety) and the vet said that she was a bit chubby.
We are going to have to do something about that, Miss Poe.
Now how to get a picky bird to eat what you want her to!?!
...
Look at the wonderful ornament that I got from my ornament swap partner, Emily!

Thank you, Emily!
I love it!!!
...
On a side note, I would like to become a more adept knitter.
I would like to learn how to make fingerless mittens,
among many other things!
any suggestions on easy intructions?
(and by easy I mean a 5 year old could follow, I have very limited skills)

Poesy Bird

Photos of my little feathered friend.
I can't imagine my life without a parrot in it...
I never knew how amazing they are until one came to live with us.
I love her so much!!!
