A walk with my favorites and a poem

When death comes like the hungry bear in autumn when death comes and takes all the bright coins from his purse

to buy me, and snaps his purse shut; when death comes like the measle-pox;

when death comes like an iceberg between the shoulder blades,

I want to step through the door full of curiosity, wondering; what is it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?

And therefore I look upon everything as a brotherhood and a sisterhood, and I look upon time as no more than an idea, and I consider eternity as another possibility,

and I think of each life as a flower, as common as a field daisy, and as singular,

and each name a comfortable music in the mouth tending as all music does, toward silence,

and each body a lion of courage, and something precious to the earth.

When it’s over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was a bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

When it’s over, I don’t want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don’t want to find myself sighing and frightened or full of argument.

I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.

Love from the puppy's snout

Thought I would share a big ol' snouty kiss with you folks,
you know,
to send you off with for the night...

Nothing like a wet puppy snout in your face or a drooly doggy kiss to know you feel loved,
right?

Aaaaaanyway...
Have a good night.
I am going to be continuing to work on some jewelry/metal work that I do for a fellow artist
and get ready for the Clamfest (in Essex) that I will be vending at next weekend.
Sweet dreams (I know a little early) my little Sweetpeas!!!

I so desperately needed to spend some time at the beach today.
I needed the salt air,
the wind in my hair,
the sound of the water and seagulls.
I needed to be in that space where the ocean meets the river.
To collect shells,
to hold one,
pray into it
and release it back into the waters it came from.

The moon is still out today.
It was so amazingly beautiful last night,
big and red and hanging low in the sky!
A red harvest moon.
It was so low it was almost on top of the ocean it was reflecting off of.
I wish I had my camera with me!

It is a true New England fall day.
Hope you enjoy yours!

not so sunny beach day...

Veda and I took a long overdue walk down to my favorite beach.
I scouted for things I wanted to photograph while she ran setter circles like a maniac around the beach.
This beach has a beautiful pasture that you walk through before getting to the water, it is very peaceful and pleasant and a big part of why this is my favorite beach...
