An Equestrian Wish

I have realized that I am a total girl when it comes to clothing.

That means that I have A LOT of clothes!

I am lucky that I have a mom and sister (and even nana) that have great taste and know what I like.

Not to mention a few good thrift and consignment shops around here...

I have been trying to stick with the motto

"if I am gifted or buy new clothes, I have to get rid of something"

and although it is difficult I have been doing a pretty good job of it!

I am excited, however, for the new outfit I was given for my birthday,

which I will try to take photos of and post tomorrow,

and the super awesome thrifty deal I got the other day on a bag load of clothes

(which included some awesome striped things... and we all know how much I love stripes!)

So, sometimes there are things that I just love and search for in my thrifting journeys.

Right now one of those searches includes a kick ass pair of equestrian riding boots.

I am actually in love with the whole outfit...

I would love to find a nice pair of super comfy riding boots,

preferably like these ones.

I would also like to find them on the cheap.

I wonder if this is possible?

Ok, well enought of my boring ramble about clothing...

it is absolutely FREEZING around these parts.

We are supposed to get 2 feet of snow tomorrow.

I hope it is light fluffy snow,

not that heavy stuff that breaks trees and bushes...

A multi tasking Post:

Ok, so this will be a multi tasking post about my thrifty finds and then about my two things that I love around my home!

First of all, I had a super awesome day of thrifty finds yesterday!!!

As well as a couple a few days earlier!

There is a wonderful consignment shop in Ipswich (a few towns over and where I grew up) that I went to with my mom...

She is friends with a really nice woman who works there and gave us incredible deals!!!

So first is this amazing top from Banana Republic! Ooo-la-la!

And this beautiful piece that is reversible and can be worn as a skirt or a dress!

This next one is a halter dress (don't mind the bad pictures of it)

Originally she said $10, then she gave it to me for free!

These next 3 were in the $1 bin, but she ended up just giving them to me also, I was so happy!

Super comfy tank.

Abercrombie shrug like sweater.

(I hate the abercrombie store, so it is nice when I find things from them that I thrifted!)

And this super cute, awesome colored green sweater from old navy... Also free!

And so last from Forget-Me-Not's is this super warm, super awesome coat that was marked down to $5, but ended up being free, also... Hooray!

I love the fuzzy hood!

Ok, so those were my thrifty finds yesterday!

But now for the multi tasking part of this post....

I also went to a nice consignment shop in Beverly a few days ago and found this super cute dress and Abercrombie cardie...

These are the two things I love around my home today (and what I am wearing today, I am lovin' the plaid and super soft cardi!)

*here's a funny little memory... I used to have 2 hampsters for a short time when I was little (they kept me up at night, so we had to return them to Woolworths, remember woolworths?!?)

They were named Plaid and Zelda...

Don't ask how I came up with those names...

But I was devastated when we gave them back because I loved them!

I cried and cried, and filled my entire diary with

"I miss Plaid and Zelda"

I know a bit neurotic...

Ha Ha Ha!

OK.

On to my two fave things...

I think I will be living in this outfit with some leggings or jeans and boots!!!

back from holiday

So, after 4 days of snowboarding with my sister, we are home.

(and of course, I have a cold)

...

It was so nice to go with her since it has been many years since we have gone together.

The first day we went up the sky was amazing and the light was perfect.

We were supposed to go night skiing, but when we got there (thursday night) we found out it started friday. We were quite disappointed, but at least I got so good photos along the way!

These were some of the sunset shots that I got while we were on our way to attempt night skiing on Thursday night...

These pictures are worth the wasted drive!

The light was amazing! I didn't have to do anything, it was hitting everything just right and the white mountains were yellow peach colored!

...

It was like a fantasy world and almost didn't seem real...

So instead we headed into town to get some food and stumbled across a couple of consignment shops!

Let the Thrifting begin!

These coats were crazy! We just had to play around...

We are still trying to figure out what kind of fur the coat Amory tried on was...

I had a wonderful score, I found a rockin' sweater in blue.

To be accompanied by a cute leaf pin for $2...

And this awesome silver bracelet for $5

(this is what was stamped out on the inside in 2 opposite places, I like the hidden hearts!)

...And lastly, this cool scarf, I love the bold pattern in black in white! And it is SO soft!

So we did actually get some skiing in.

And we did get to go night skiing, which neither of us have ever done and it was SO much fun!!!

We left a little early on sunday because the car we borrowed to go up with had headlight malfunctions and we only had high beams.

It worked out though because it ended up being really windy...

(I mean REALLY windy, it was nuts)

On either side of the mountain was a gigantic cloud swirling and looming devilishly above us.

It looked like a huge tsunami cloud and continued to just churn and churn and blow down the mountain...

....BRRRR....

(you can't see it in this picture, but to the left is completely black and the direction the swirl is coming from, kind incredible and scary)

And that is mostly it...

Maybe I will go again next year, it was fun to do for my birthday!

(good work out for my legs, too!)
