Chihuly

Chihuly is on display at the MFA here in Boston until August.

I had gone a few weeks ago, but my mom wanted to take my nana who is a big fan.

So when my sister had to go back to her apartment in the city,

mom, nana, sister and my mom's friend and I all went in to see it.

One of the things that added interest for me was the basket room with the huge wooden table displaying his glass baskets and the wall of Pendleton blankets that were part of his inspiration.

The photos go in order of the rooms.

It is such an amazing burst of color and the size and shapes of his work are fantastic!

It is a great exhibit so if you are in town you should definitely check it out!!!

This was a great way to spend a rainy day!

And when she wasn't semi naked, she was usually wearing her tutu since she wanted to be a ballerina!

Anyway, she just posted this photo as her profile pic on facebook and I almost died when I saw it!

Time flies... New banner!

Where has time gone!?!

I had 3 birthdays to celebrate this week,

I have been trying to find a place to bring my watercolors for printing.

(which is something I am finally acting on after a couple years of saying I am going to)

I have been working on more paintings,

spinning yarn,

carding wool in preparation for felted owls,

and today Andy's sister and nephews came by for the day!

And now I am trying to organize my brain for teaching a homeschooling class about fiber art.

Of course, tomorrow being Sunday,

the places in town that I wanted to get to today (but didn't)

won't be open... Errr, frustrating.

Anyhoo, I changed my banner.

Remembering Warmer Days...

So I feel like it has been a while since I posted last and I kinda feel like I say that at the beginning of every post now...

I have been busy trying to make things for the upcoming craft/holiday fairs I am vending at.

Also, I spent a couple of days helping my mom "clean out" the family place in the white mountains.

It is something she had been wanting to do for a while.

It is an A-frame that my grandparents had build probably about 50+ years ago/

We would go there every weekend growing up for vacation or skiing...

But now that my grandfather and father have passed (they loved it up there)

it has been harder for us to get up there.

So my mom thought that it would be good to try to rent it so it wouldn't have to be sold...

My grandmother hates it there and really wants to just get rid of it and it is starting to look like that might be the case.

When we got there, we realized how much work it would need to be rentable.

Not that it is a total dump or anything,

but it just needs more to be put into it than can be afforded.

So it was emotional and frustrating.

But by the time I left it was cleaner (we threw out A LOT!).

Still, it is kind of sad.

There are a whole lot of memories there...

Part of me would be really sad to see it sell, but I can't seem to make it up there much and neither does anyone else.

So we will see...

I am missing the beach so much, the warm sun on my skin, the salty water to swim around in... This is high tide at Lighthouse Beach, you can see the water comes right up to the rocks. It is the best time to be there and the best time to swim!
